It was great to see everyone over the Castlegate Festival weekend to celebrate Heritage Open Days, and we continue to be amazed by the interest in what is currently a demolition site with nothing to see!!
We had the news just before that the chamber containing the only visible remains, was condemned by the Council and therefore we could not take visitors in however, with our visual aids, hopefully we were able to show people what the remains do look like.
Thanks to everyone who came along and special thanks to Ashley Tuck from Wessex Archaeology who helped out on the Saturday.
We are not sure when we will be able to do future tours due to possible work starting on site but will post on all our usual media outlets and to members directly
