In January 2014 Museums Sheffield were successful in a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund to begin proposals that will see Weston Park Museum redeveloped for a brighter future. This project will bring more of the city’s collections to more people and create inspiring, sustainable new displays where audiences can engage with their heritage.
Anita Hamlin, the Community Engagement Coordinator at Museums Sheffield says; “I’ll be consulting with different community groups and organisations to get a sense of what the people of Sheffield like and dislike about the museum, and how they would like to see it in the future. There is also a chance that some of the people I work with will have a longer term role and help to select works or even help to put together small displays. I’m passionate about the museum being for the people of Sheffield and for it to have something for all age groups.”
